Buying property in Algeria from the UK
Living in the UK? Prepare the power of attorney, transfers from sterling and remote visits with someone who speaks your language.
From the UK: what changes when you buy
The process is the same as in Algeria; these are the things to prepare when you live abroad.
Signing without being there
Signing can be done by a representative. The power of attorney is drawn up at the Algerian consular mission in the UK; check the documents required before your appointment.
Funding the purchase
Funds leave from a sterling account. Compare transfer fees with your bank, keep the receipts and check the payment arrangements with the notary.
Visiting and following up remotely
Algeria is one hour ahead of the UK in winter and on the same time in summer, so video visits are easy to arrange.
A community nearby
An Algerian community lives in the UK, mostly in London, and can point you in the right direction.
Properties sold in euros
Some sellers price in euros. The price is shown as entered, never converted.
Buying back home from abroad is stressful
Finding a property is not the hard part. These worries are.
- You can’t visit in person.
- You’re afraid of overpaying (the “diaspora price”).
- You worry about paperwork problems (deed, land register).
- You don’t want to leave it all to family.
- You only spend a few days a year in Algeria.
- You don’t know which agency to trust.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get support in English?
Yes, follow-up can be in English, French or Arabic.
Are prices shown in pounds?
No. Prices are in dinars, or in euros when the seller chose so, never converted.
Do I need to be in Algeria to buy?
Not necessarily. The notarial signing can be done by a representative holding a power of attorney, which you can obtain at your consulate.
How do I know a listing is genuine?
We check that the property exists and review the ownership documents before suggesting you go further. Never pay a deposit without these checks.
Can I view a property without travelling?
Yes: a live video tour with an adviser on site, or a 360° virtual tour when the property has one.
How much does this service cost?
The price depends on the service you choose and is given to you before any commitment. See our pricing or ask for a quote.
Which cities do you cover?
The search covers all of Algeria. On-the-ground support depends on the wilaya, stated for each package.
Do you guarantee the property is legally “clean”?
We check the documents provided and flag anything doubtful, but only the notary certifies the sale and the property’s legal status.
